Mac mountain lion
I love my apple products, and i indeed think their computers and operating systems are far better than the competition. I will say that the new mountain lion preview has me worried.
I dont want all that crap. I dont want to tweet from every app, i for sure dont want notifications like my phone has, and it looks like more and more fluff added to a great system. I hope they let me shut 95% of that...

Clear App
Clear is a new to do / list manager iphone app from realmac software and its very cool. From a minimalist standpoint they are doing it right. Love how easy it is to add, complete and sort tasks.
My only few complaints are fairly simple.
i wish i had some sort of alerts / due date on tasks

The importance of life
An excerpt from a newly published author, who’s blog and now book on simplicity has been a great influence on my life recently.
“Trending on Amazon hasn’t changed my life all that much. I still go to work everyday. My kids still get sick. The garbage still needs to go out. And “check engine” lights still pop on. My kids don’t care that their dad is trending on Amazon… they still just...

A Sister’s Eulogy for Steve Jobs - NYTimes.com →
This is a must read. I don’t care if you hate all things Apple related, this is a great story. I know many great people die every day, but I cant help to hope it touches you, encourages you and brings some perspective to your life.

Real Political Change
Im not overly Political, but I cant help but read this and think it’s the most logical thing I have seen to date.
Warren Buffett, “I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC. “You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right...

Ride report (short)
Epic ride! Seriously cool. Spent most the day riding in the dense fog. 20 yard visibility for most of it. The 2500ft elevation climb over 10 miles was pretty brutal. I actually felt I did well. More to come later.
Final ride time with 2 flats, water stops and other issues-6:40:30
But moving time was only 5:40
At the end of the day, being secure in who you are and who you came to this world to be, is the only way to be happy. Pleasing others is a fast moving target and much like carnival games, the game of pleasing others is often rigged.

Maybe its that i dont feel well, or had kind of an emotional past few days with a death in my family, but this article made me well up a little at the end.
Inmates fix up bicycles for needy
There is something about fixing bikes for people in need. Something that says hope, love, compassion, empathy, and passion.
It’s not always the fixing part (in this case maybe it is), but the...
i have a solid 112 miles on the bike this week, and making solid progress on the hundred pushup challenge training. 200 situps are next.
Also had a nice little insurance exam. measuring a 40” chest, 32” waist. 6’3” and 194 lbs. We’ll see what the blood work says, but looks so far like im, as the say, healthy as a horse.
we’ll see what the SLO GranFondo race...
In the last 48 hours there is something about riding 60 miles, and getting in 80 push ups that makes me feel like tough guy when walking around. Love the training mode!

Stats
Just looked over some logs on my riding. Since May 5th, I logged 1000 miles and 3000 minutes of road training for the XXX century coming up this fall.
I enjoy when someone mentions they have been doing something for “Almost 2 years”. Like thats an amazing amount of time or something. Sure thats long for some things, but usually not what this person is talking about.
I have been saving this carton of milk for two years. Wow.

Arg!
Any tire suggestions for training & rough roads? Geared up early for a 50 miler and at mile 2 I shredded a tire. Never saw what i hit, but cut a near new Specialized Roubaix pro II tire right open. Had to ride 10mph home.
